Health Promotion & Chronic Disease Prevention

Chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes and asthma are the leading causes of death and disability in the U.S., especially among low-income and communities of color. MPHI manages chronic disease prevention programs that address how the circumstances in which people are born, grow up, live, and work affect their health. Core efforts of this work involve translating scientific research and evidence-based interventions into program development and evaluation, social marketing, and coalition development.
