Public Health Performance Improvement Capacity Building

Public Health Performance Improvement Capacity Building

Centers:

The Office of Accreditation and Quality Improvement within MPHI’s Center for Healthy Communities works closely with the Office of Performance Improvement and Management at MDHHS to provide capacity building assistance to state, local, and tribal public health agencies within and beyond Michigan. The project accomplishes its goals through direct assistance, such as a mini-grant program, by providing free customized technical assistance, and training in quality improvement and performance management. The project also supports development of educational materials to support capacity to meet national standards, including the Embracing Quality in Public Health series which includes a Quality Improvement Guidebook, Performance Management Primer, and Accreditation Readiness Video. This collaborative work between MPHI and MDHHS has reached a national and international public health audience.
