Julia Heany, PhD

Dr. Heany completed her PhD in Community Psychology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2005. Her research interests center on identifying the ways public health systems and services can be structured to support family health and well-being via the interconnections of multiple levels of the human ecological context. Dr. Heany has over ten years of research experience, including program evaluation, utilizing multi-method design, and participatory models of community research. She serves as principal investigator on various research and evaluation projects, including a Public Health Systems and Services Research Project funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to explore the organization of tribal public health systems and the evaluation of Michigan’s Maternal Infant and Early Childhood Visiting Program.
