MPHI is proud to announce that we have been selected as a Diversity Champion by Corp! Magazine’s for their Salute to Diversity. The Salute to Diversity recognizes businesses, organizations, and leaders who champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and achievements within their organization or the community. The Salute to Diversity is an educational event and awards celebration that features networking and insightful speakers who share best practices on ways to move the needle on diversity, equity, and inclusion in business. The Michigan Salute to Diversity Awards and Virtual Conference takes place on September 21 – 23, 2021.

An African proverb says, “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.” Our commitment to diversity is a demonstration of our dedication to go far, together. We recognize that each voice, each lived experience, each worldview, each personal and collective identity make us better as individuals and makes our work better. A diversified workforce is richer in ideas, experiences, knowledge, and skills than a less diversified workforce, and as such, we see diversity as a resource maximization method. The institute and its actions must reflect those we serve, and we serve all people.

MPHI is a Michigan-based, nationally engaged non-profit public health institute that employs over 1000 professionals dedicated to promoting health and advancing well-being for all. Our core values guide everything we do: servant leadership, quality and excellence; health equity and social justice; and authentic relationships. Our projects carry community voices to community and agency leaders, policymakers, and researchers, increasing public capacity to improve health and well-being and reduce health disparities. As a trusted collaborative partner, MPHI teams work among community-based programs, researchers, governmental agencies, and advocacy organizations to help identify and create culturally responsive solutions that meet the needs of those we serve.
