MPHI’s CEO, Dr. Renée Branch Canady, Serves on National Task Force
The Public Health National Center for Innovations (PHNCI) and the de Beaumont Foundation convened a 30-person, national task force to develop The Futures Initiative: The 10 Essential Public Health Services. This field-driven “revisit and refresh” of the 10 Essential Public Health Services (EPHS), was recently launched. A recording of the launch event, including the Q&A, is available for viewing. The complete toolkit is available here: https://spark.adobe.com/page/Qy1veOhGWyeu5/
This effort engaged the public health field through a variety of input opportunities, including live crowdsourcing events, in-person and virtual town halls, think tank discussions, and open questionnaires. All direct feedback on the Essential Services and how they might be revised was considered, resulting in an updated version of the 10 EPHS that now centers equity and incorporates concepts relevant to current and future public health practice.
MPHI employees continue to telecommute due to the current recommended public health response to COVID-19. Our highest priority is the health and well-being of the communities we serve, our partners, and our employees.
