Following a 30 year career of public health leadership, Deputy Director of the Population Health Administration, Sue Moran, will be retiring on September 28, 2018.

As Deputy Director, Sue has led agency wide efforts to promote and protect the health of all Michigan residents through surveillance and response to health issues, prevention of illness and injury, improvements in access to care, and promotion of health equity. She oversees the MDHHS Bureau of Laboratories; Epidemiology and Population Health; EMS, Trauma and Preparedness; Health and Wellness, Family Health Services and the Office of Local Health Services.

Prior to her appointment as Senior Deputy Director, Sue served as the Director of Medicaid Program Operations and Quality Assurance for the Michigan Department of Community Health. For more than 30 years, Sue has brought her health care experience to both the public and private sector, including state government, managed care organizations, and hospitals. She graduated from the University of Illinois with Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Public Health. Her expertise, insight and leadership will be greatly missed and we wish her the best in her retirement!
