MPHI is proud to share that we have entered into a new partnership with Michigan Food & Farming Systems (MIFFS), now co-located at the MPHI Okemos campus. Founded in 1998, MIFFS is a non-profit dedicated to Supporting the Many Faces of Farming by connecting beginning and historically underserved farmers to each other and offering a variety of programs such as:

  • Farmer Led Networks: Women-in-Ag Network, Veterans-in-Ag Network, and Spanish Speaking Producers Network
  • USDA Program Navigation: FSA Farm Number registration and USDA Farm Bill Program application guidance
  • Educational workshops: On-Farm Food Safety Trainings and Mock Audits

MIFFS and MPHI are aligned in our dedication to ensure a healthy livelihood for ALL farmers and their families, as well as better health outcomes for the communities served by those producers.   This partnership is a concrete example of MPHI’s mission in action:  to advance population health through public health innovation and collaboration.

The MIFFS-MPHI partnership has been a powerful leap forward for MIFFS, supporting an expansion of statewide services, coordination of equitable food and farming initiatives within public health work, and growing a more sustainable organization.

Together we are working to help make a world where tomorrow is healthier than today.
