Education and Training
The mission of Education and Training (E&T) is to provide high-quality education and training to the public health workforce. Staff members work closely with a wide range of clients to produce conferences, large and small meetings, and e-learning methods that provide timely and effective training. Areas of specialization include needs assessment design and analysis, marketing, online registration, graphic design, group facilitation, event logistical coordination, curriculum design and implementation, continuing education administration, on-site event staffing, training material development and evaluation, and wrap-around webcasting services.

Ms. Rollins currently provides supervision for the Education and Training team as well as, administrative, operational, budgetary and project oversight for all Education and Training projects which produce over 70 events annually. Additionally, Ms. Rollins provides consulting services in group facilitation, public relations, grant proposal writing, grant reviewer, grantee mentoring, and focus groups. Prior to joining MPHI in 1999 as an Education and Training Associate, she worked over seven years at Henry Ford Health Systems in Detroit, MI as a Special Projects Coordinator, in Patient Access and Referral involved in Medicare Risk Management initiatives involving CQI processes for increased patient satisfaction and enhanced quality of care in meeting Health Alliance Plan's HEDIS requirements. She received her BS in Multidisciplinary Health Studies (majoring in Anthropology, Physiology and Psychology) from Michigan State University in 1992 and has taken graduate course work in the Master’s Public Administration program at Western Michigan University specializing in health care policy and health care administration. Ms. Rollins currently serves as an Affiliate Representative Governing Council for the American Public Health Association (APHA) and Past President for the Michigan Public Health Association and Editor of the association’s newsletter, IMPACT. Ms. Rollins is a member of APHA and American Society of Training and Development.

Ms. Jolin has been an integral member of E&T since 1996. She is coordinator for the Women, Infants and Children project, producing over 50 events annually. She brings 10 years of logistical event planning experience to E&T. She is currently pursuing her degree in Nutrition to become a registered dietitian.

Ms. Collins is a lead event planner and graphic designer for national/federal and state-wide education and training initiatives and provides website design for training activities. Ms. Collins holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University in Hospitality Business.
